BPGC Training Program
Build confidence and competence. Our training combines essential classroom instruction (3rd Saturday) with flexible, live-fire practice to get you qualified and ready for the range.
Purpose
The BPGC firearms training and qualification program ensures members possess the knowledge, safe handling habits, and proficiency necessary for responsible firearms ownership. All members must pass the Annual Basic Qualification to maintain membership. Participation in group Range Day events requires prior completion of the Fundamental Qualification.

The first three levels establish core fundamentals, building
member confidence in firearm handling and marksmanship precision in a
controlled, supportive environment.
Key Elements Include

- Safety Protocols: Always treating firearms as loaded
- Handling: Proper Grip, Stance, and Sight Picture
- Marksmanship: Trigger control
Defensive Shooting
- Dynamic Movement: Shooting while moving forward, backward, or laterally, rather than standing still.
- Stress Inoculation: Using challenging, time-sensitive, or complex drills to simulate the pressure of a violent encounter.
Defensive Shooting
- Environmental Factors: Utilizing cover and concealment, shooting from non-standard positions (prone, kneeling), or shooting in low-light/no-light conditions.
- Realistic Scenarios: Dealing with multiple threats, close-proximity engagements (retention shooting), and clearing malfunctions while moving.
group range events
Participation in group Range Day events require prior completion of the Fundamental Qualifications.
